全齿虫属(学名:Omnidens)是一个已灭绝的节肢动物,为恐虾纲底下的一个属。[1]其中全齿虫属有两个物种,分别为:巨大全齿虫(学名:Omnidens amplus)[1]和穷奇全齿虫(学名:Omnidens qiongqii)[2]。人们曾误认为其口器化石属于放射齿目动物,首次发现时,科学家认为全齿虫是一种鳃曳动物[1],但现在又划成节肢动物。其口器很像长有鳃的厌恶虫的口器,意味着这两种动物很可能是近亲。[3]据推测,全齿虫体长可达1.5米,是目前已知最大的自由生活的寒武纪生物之[1]一。[4][5][6][7]
发现
[编辑]巨大全齿虫的化石分布在中国云南省昆明市海口镇(Haikou area)的麻坊阶层(Mafang section)和耳材村阶层(Ercaicun section)、晋宁区的梅树村组(Meishucun)、澄江市的帽天山页岩(Maotianshan Shales)、小滥田(Xiaolantian)、大坡头(Dapotou)和马鞍山(Ma'anshan)。全齿虫的正模标本是编号为YKLP 10157的标本,来自帽天山页岩,目前保存在云南省古生物研究重点实验室(Yunnan Key Laboratory for Palaeobiology),保存了牙齿,环棘(scalid)和突刺。[1]
命名
[编辑]全齿虫属的名字Omnidens是由拉丁语的omnis(全部)和dens(牙齿)所组成,意思为全部的牙齿。[1]巨大全齿虫的种加词amplus,是巨大的意思[1];穷奇全齿虫的种加词qiongqii,是穷奇的拼音,为山海经的四大猛兽之一,由于全齿虫的牙齿和带给人的形象很贪婪与穷奇一样。[2]

[编辑]1994年,人们首次发现了全齿虫的样本,但当时人们将其划入放射齿目,并以此作为放射齿目体长可达2米的证据。[8]后来,这批化石又被归入皮托虾和似皮托虫,最后在2006年被确认是一个新的属,并将其模式种命名为巨大全齿虫(Omnidens amplus)。[1]目前,人们认为它是一种大型节肢动物,至少1米长,是厌恶虫的近亲。[3][9]
