《思索死刑》(法语:Réflexions sur la guillotine;英语:Reflections on the Guillotine),是法国作家阿尔贝·加缪的一部作品,写于1957年。在文章中,加缪对废除死刑持不妥协的立场。加缪的观点与切萨雷·贝卡里亚和萨德侯爵的观点相似,后者也认为,由国家预谋和实施的谋杀是最糟糕的[1]。加缪说,他的论点不是基于对被定罪者的同情,而是基于逻辑和经证实的统计数字。[1]

Capital punishment is the most premeditated of murders, to which no criminal’s deed, however calculated, can be compared. For there to be an equivalency, the death penalty would have to punish a criminal who had warned his victim of the date on which he would inflict a horrible death on him and who, from that moment onward, had confined him at his mercy for months.
