玛利亚·金布塔斯
玛利亚·金布塔斯 (立陶宛语:Marija Gimbutienė,1921年1月23日 - 1994年2月2日)为美国籍的立陶宛考古学家,以研究古欧洲新石器时代和青铜时代文化的学术成就而闻名于世,而她的坟冢假说亦被广泛接纳。此假说指出原始印欧语族的起源源于东欧大草原。玛利亚·金布塔斯认为,在立陶宛以及横跨欧亚大陆的新石器时期的遗址提供了考古证据,证明古代印欧社会既不是母系社会也不是父系社会,但后来她又在某些学术圈子提出意见,认定这些古代社会皆为母系氏族。[1]
生平
[编辑]玛利亚·金布塔斯出生于立陶宛首都维尔纽斯,本名玛利亚·碧露蒂·阿尔塞凯特(立陶宛语:Marija Birutė Alseikaitė),父母都是当地的知识分子。她的母亲获得柏林大学的眼科博士学位,也是立陶宛第一位女医生。父亲则是塔尔图大学的医学学位。1918年立陶宛独立后,两人合力创办维尔纽斯的第一所医院。除了本身的医学学科以外,阿尔塞凯特的父母还是立陶宛传统民间艺术的支持者和鉴赏家,经常邀请维尔纽斯当地的音乐家、作家到家里做客。这些人对提升阿尔塞凯特的文化素养提供了很大的帮助。
1931年,阿尔塞凯特和父母一起迁居到考纳斯。1936年,阿尔塞凯特的父亲去世,给了阿尔塞凯特比较大的冲击,也促使她重新思考人生,决定开始认真读书并成为一名学者。1941年,她嫁给了建筑师约尔吉斯·金布塔斯,婚后冠夫姓,先后经历了苏联和纳粹德国的统治。1944年,苏联进军至立陶宛,金布塔斯一家决定逃离,他们先逃亡到纳粹帝国,随后到达维也纳,然后是因斯布鲁克和巴伐利亚。金布塔斯评价这段流亡生活说:生活就像一颗小植物一样扭曲了我,但我的工作仍然朝着一个方向持续进行。
1945年,金布塔斯在蒂宾根大学获得博士后奖学金。20世纪50年代,金布塔斯一家离开了联邦德国,前往美国。金布塔斯主要的成就就是在美国取得。1993年,金布塔斯获颁立陶宛考纳斯的维陶塔斯马格努斯大学的荣誉博士学位。1994年2月2日金布塔斯在洛杉矶去世,终年73岁。她被埋葬在考纳斯的彼得拉休奈公墓。
学说
[编辑]1956年金布塔斯在《史前的东欧(第一部分)》中首先提出该假说时,她综合地利用了考古学和语言学来对印欧起源问题进行研究。假说将原始印欧语使用者与东欧大草原的亚姆纳文化及其前身相联系,并将印欧人的原住地定位在东欧大草原,提出晚期原始印欧语的各种方言曾在这一地区被使用。假说并且认为该文化逐渐扩张直至占据整个的东欧大草原,最晚阶段的文化(坟冢丁)即为前3000年左右的亚姆纳文化。[2]
