English: Occupation plan of Japan proposed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (now in the American National Archives) as shown in "The allied occupation of Japan" by Eiji Takemae and Robert Ricketts (see page 95); based on Image:Japan large.png. Mie Prefecture was corrected from joint rule of the United States and China to single rule of the United States.
Legend: Red - Soviet Union administration, Blue - United States administration, Green - United Kingdom administration, Yellow - Republic of China administration.
