this is the inner courtyard of the Cecilienhof castle in the Neuer Garten park in Potsdam. the place has quite a history, since it was here that the declaration ending World War II in Europe was signed between Stalin, Churchill, and Truman in 1945. the red star of flowers in the center of the courtyard was planted by Russian soldiers for the Potsdam Conference. the day we visited Cecilienhof was too beautiful really to take one of the tours.
